Welcome to SlappingPaint.net. This is my little corner of the web, where I get to show off the work of my friends and I. If you stumbled across this site by pure accident, let me try to explain what our hobby is. We paint little metal figurines (Games Workshop, Rackham's Confrontation and Reaperminis) to a pretty decent standard using acrylic based paints. (Like Citadel,Coat d'Arms and Vallejo to name a few).

What I've been up to,
April 24th, 2007,
This isn't mini related, but apparently someone has been using my email
account to send spam all over the world. For the people that have been
getting emails to buy fake rolex's or some pharmacutical products, I am
sorry, but it is something out of my control. All I can say it wasn't me
sending hundreds, if not thousands of bogus, inbox filling crap. Perhaps
it is because I advertise my email on this page that somehow its been
spoofed. So, with that said, I'm going to change the link to my email to
add _no_spam_. If you want to send me an email, just remove that part
from the email address, and it will get to me. I do get email from time to
time, and its good to know that my page is still viewed even if I don't
update it much. Thank you for understanding the email problem, and thanks
for coming to my little corner of the web.
 Feb 8th, 2007
Finally got around to taking some pictures of my latest. Nothing fancy,
just a group shot of the ogre shaman and cyclops I painted recently.
Next on the painting block is the new reaper minotaur, Cretus.
January 19th, 2007
2 years and a week since my last update. Hard to believe that it has been
that long since I painted anything. Coincidently that is also how long I have
been working at my new job. If your curious as to what I do, I drive a truck.
Its similiar to that one. Since April of last year, I've been working a boat load
of hours, so there isn't much time for hobbies. BUT, I did finally finish a model
last night that I started over a year ago, but it was collecting more dust than
paint. So, when I find some time to take pictures, I'll post the Ogre shaman from
Reaper minis. Just letting the hard core faithfull that visit here know that I am
still alive!
January 11th, 2005
Greetings fellow minipainters and a happy (and belated) New Year!
This post is just a note letting you know I'm still alive and kicking, but haven't
painted anything since Drazhen. I do have a couple things on my painting table,
but I hope to finish something in the next month or so. Thanks to all that come
looking here and I hope to grace this page with something for your enjoyment soon.
November 14th, 2004
Found some motivation to paint a mini I've been wanting to paint for quite some time
(but then again, I have hundreds of minis I've been wanting to paint for quite some time :/)
I've painted up Drazhen, Dark Eldar Master of Blades. Front and Side. I didn't paint him
to GW's color scheme, as I don't see this model being black. I think he came out looking
good, but with some more tweaking, he could look really good.
November 3rd, 2004,
I have actually painted something but its a gaming mini for a friend, and not something
I would normally show off, since its basic. Perhaps this is the end of my painting slump..
or not. Read my latest blog entry to see. I do have several minis on my table that I
want to paint, but the motivation to just sit there and paint is kinda elusive. Perhaps
I should paint an Angel mini to honor the one in my life.
October 13th, 2004,
Been in a painting slump. Started 3 or 4 minis, but can't get the motivation to sit
on the bench and even throw paint at the minis.
But I did throw a few things in the blog.. I really need to make a little graphic for this page
stick it on my navigation frame. Can someone help me out? I lost the program I used
to make the ones that are already there. Thanks!
October 3rd, 2004,
I've just finished taking pictures of my latest work, Crom the Conqueror. In the game
this dude is just downright mean, nasty and a pure killing machine. Here is a page
of 6 pictures devoted to him.
I plan on having him up on eBay this evening, starting at 10pm EST (as is my usual
time my auctions) Also, I am auctioning off my Beastman Champion at the same time.
HERE is a picture of these 2 models facing off one another..Thanks for coming by and
if anyone has any questions about minipainting, or even other things, just email
me [email protected] I do get an email everyonce in awhile asking about things
and I do my best to get back to you in a very timely manner.
October 1st, 2004
I'm a little late mentioning this, but I put a couple things on eBay Sunday night.
2 Games Workshop Chaos Champions/Heros, a Minotaur Champion and my
Chainmail Naresh Warband, in case anyone is interested in things like that.
My current project is Crom the Conqueror, a really nasty special character
for Chaos Undivided. I think he is coming out well, and I expect to finish him
in a couple days and hopefully have him up on eBay Sunday night. My Wolfen
repentent model I shelved for a bit, as I'm stuck on how to paint some areas.
September 27th, 2004
Someone asked on the minipainter list what an inexpensive wet pallete looks like.
So, I took a picture of mine and posted some thoughts on it there.
Also, if anyone has been trying to get ahold of Ron for some commission painting,
I've talked to him recently, and he told me since he only checks his email when he goes
to the libary (hey, not everyone can afford a computer) he found out that some of his
messages get deleted after 5 days. So, if your trying to get ahold of him, contact
and I'll ring him up with any offers. Thanks!
September 19th, 2004
Been picking away at a Wolfen Repentant model. I'm using the same color
combo I've used on my female ogre (the one in my banner) but this time I am
doing it over white primer. Its a bit different, more bright and not as dark as I would
like in the creases, but I'm working on it. HERE and HERE are some WIP pictures.
Also, I am continuing putting stuff up on ebay to help supplement my income.
This week is the undead werewolf, Rutgar the slayer and a Chainmail Werebear.
They should be starting at 10 pm, EST. So if your interested, go take a peek and
perhaps bid on one or all of them! ;-)
I did take some more pictures today, but forgot all about taking some pics of the
Chaos Santa..perhaps later tonight I'll have some up.
A little later on the 19th..
Heres a smattering of pics of the Chaos Santa...
September 14th, 2004
Just completed working on a very limited, hard to find Games Workshop
Santa Claus. Evil, very evil. I don't have pictures yet, as I still have to dullcote
it after the matte varnish dries. Look for it soon! (DW, I know you check my site...)
Also, I added something to my little blog. Totally non-mini related. Just thoughts
that ramble around my mind, and its a place for me to post them to anyone that
cares to poke inside the brain of Craig. Sometimes I like to stand on the soapbox
and vent. Thank the powers that be for freedom of speech.
September 12th, 2004
I've decided to start taking commissions again. If your interested, look HERE
for my commission page.
Whilst perusing the latest releases from Reaper at my local store, I found Adara,
the Succubus. I figured this would be a fun model to paint. Not that detailed,
so I could focus on skin tones and overall look. So, after spending the early into
late evening painting her, I came out with THIS. But if frontal nudity bothers you
in miniature, don't go there. ;-)
September 10th, 2004
I was painting the Reapermini Wereboar, and thought I would use the same flesh
technique I used on Beastman, but I found out what worked on one model, doesn't
work on another. The flesh area on the wereboar is bigger than on the beastman,
and I just couldn't duplicate the effect. Bummer. But, HERE and HERE is a picture
of the Wereboar, so you can decide for yourself.
Also, I've decided to start taking commissions again. So, if your interested, drop
me an email and we work something out. I'll also be making an official commission
page so you know what to expect. Thanks!
September 8th, 2004
Since yesterday was my birthday, I took the night off from work and decided to
work on a model I picked up a little while back. Its the Beastman Champion from
Games Workshop. This model seems to pretty popular, as I've seen many people
paint this model up. I am quite happy with the results, and I have to thank
Angela Imrie for giving me the inspiration for this model. (her demon winner is
in White Dwarf issue 295, page 83 in the US publication.) HERE is a page devoted
to this model.
September 6th, 2004
I thought I would test the ebay waters for painted minis, so I put 2
up for auction HERE. Its been some time since I did it, but I do like the extra
money, it always helps! I also put some decent buy it now prices on it, so
lets see if they last until the auctions end...
September 3rd, 2004
When I got home from work last night, the painting bug afflicted me, and I took
brush in hand and played around with an Orc King (Skraad might be his name, dunno).
I only worked on him for a little bit, slappin' some paint around. HERE is the almost final
outcome. Perhaps some static grass, perhaps some picking around his face. He is mostly
armour, so he was fairly easy to paint. I also got into a picture taking mood, and took some
more shots of my recent work, as well as THIS guy from loooooooooong ago. I painted
this one with testors paints when I first started collecting miniatures. He is an old Citadel
Druid, that, at the time I thought was funny, with camoflauge robes. Ok, its a stretch,
but back then I thought he came out nice.
I'm just going to through out a list of the models I just photographed. I think they look
better than the other pictures I've taken. But then again, I don't know. They might look
worse on someone elses monitor.
Chainmail Werebear
Games Workshop Minotaur, the one I game with. HERE, Here and HeRe.
A crappy picture of my gaming GW Undivided Champ and another crappy pic..
My gaming chaos beastmen, here and here
My latest Heresy mini, Evil Claus
The newwer Reapermini Ogre. One here, the other there and yet another...
Another blast from the past, a Ral Partha Dwarf, front and butt..
A recent Reapermini gladiator, Here, there and from behind..
Another Reapermini, and Undead Hunter, front and back..
Better pictures of my undead werewolf, here and there..
And my Wererat from Reaperminis. I actually like how this model came out.
Here, there and straight-on..
If I had the time, I would make pages for most of this models, with a write up of some
sort of how they were painted. But I at least uploaded the pictures, so thats half the battle!
Enjoy!
August 29th, 2004
I talked with Ron Harrison today (the guy I mentioned on the 19th) and he
showed me where there is an example of his work. HERE is a Bretonnian
Sorceress that he did. He told me that he is going to be bringing more
stuff in to get pictures taken of them. Once again, here is his email
address [email protected] Nice guy, works well, loves doing
rank and file minis. If you can't get ahold of him through his email (which he
checks at the libary) just email me, and I'll call him up for you.
Also, I talked with my bud, Adam, and he told me that he is an author
of a webcomic, where he makes fun of his job as an employee of Games Workshop.
HERE you can see his work. He does have an odd sense of humor, but then again
what gamer doesn't? Just start at the link at the bottom of the page. i'm laughing,
so why can't you join in?
August 22nd, 2004
I was going through my tonnage of extra minis and decided on some more
things to part with. It was a tough decision, but I did it. Expect to see
some Space Marine stuff up Sunday night at 7pm PST (That's 10pm for
us East coasters..) Some OOP stuff, some not. See it HERE.
One of these days I wil put painted stuff on ebay. (like I used to do once a week)
The last 4 minis I painted will be there eventually, unless someone
makes an offer first...
Thanks for taking a look!
August 19th, 2004
Last week I was talking with a painting buddy of mine, and the topic
turned to commission work. It seems he likes to paint rank and file
miniatures, does a really good job for r&f and doesn't charge much ($10 and under).
I didn't get the chance to take some pictures of his work, since I didn't
have my camera, and the last batch of r&f he had on him, he was giving
to a customer shortly thereafter. His internet access is limited, as he
doesn't have a home computer, but is his email address. If you can't
get ahold of him, just email me, [email protected] and I'll get ahold of
him for you. His name is Ron, and he's a really decent guy and I wouldn't
be putting his name up here if I thought otherwise. So, if your looking for
a painter for that army of yours, he could be your man!
In some other non-mini related news, I was tossing around the idea of a blog
type page. Just somethings I would like to put on the net, just because I
thought it was interesting enough (to me, anyways) to do so. We all have
other things on our mind besides minipainting, right?
August 15th, 2004
I've put some 40k ork stuff and OOP citadel paint on ebay. The listings
should start around 7:15 PST. Check out the list HERE if your looking for
some deals. Just cleaning out the closets a bit. Still have much more...
Must let some of it go...must be strong...must break free of figmentia!
You would think that it would be easy selling off stuff that's been sitting
in your closet, or boxes for a couple years now and that you have no
chance of ever using, or painting. sheesh, i'm addicted to pewter ;-)
August 11th, 2004
Here's a smallish picture of the Ogre Chieftan I've been working on.
I like the way he looks, but that mastadon on his rodeobelt buckle
just looks out of place, and worse in the picture....
Some static grass, some sealant and I believe he will be finished.
August 3rd, 2004
I've finished painting the Ratman. You would think something that is mostly
fur wouldn't be too hard, and would be done quite quickly. Nope. Nadda.
But I'm happy with the results, as it looks like how i pictured it before I
started painting it.
Also, a close buddy of mine has asked me to paint a GW Dragon Ogre
just like the one (actually 2) he recently picked up on ebay, painted by the talented
Mike McVey. Shall be interesting, as I normally don't paint models this bright.
But since I have an example right by my side to go by, I think I can do it.
July 27th, 2004
I picked up some commission work recently, and I've been poking my brush
at an old school Games Workshop Chaos Warrior. The colors match the rest
of the budding army I've been painting for my friend for a couple, 3 years now.
He's a huge fan of Khorne (blood for the blood god, well, you psychos that follow
Khorne now the rest of that mantra!) And this model should fit right in with the
rest. I just took a look through my gallery and noticed I never took pictures
of the ogres I painted for him well over a year ago. Perhaps I can borrow them
a little photo-shoot.
Also in the works, I picked up some larger Reaperminis to paint for ebay, or to
sell before hand. I purchased the new ogre, a big ratman and a wereboar.(which
needs some putty work around the neck, since you can see the seam)
Oh, did I mention that I'm taking commissions? I can handle a couple, but
definatly no regiments, units (only 3 and under) or vehicles.
Thanks for stopping by, and reading my ramblings..
Later in the day...
well, I took some pictures of the Undeadwerewolf and the Barbarian that
looks like a gladiator. I'm fairly happy with the wolf picture, but the Barbarian
I'm not so sure of. If you have any comments, I would really like to hear them.
Please email me at [email protected] Thanks!
July 23rd, 2004
After some thought, and some nit picking, I consider the undead werewolf I was
painting to be finished. Also, I have painted another Reapermini, this time
a Barbarian looking Gladiator. On that model I *gasp* blacklined the mini. For
those that don't know me, or never noticed, I don't blackline, I (dark)brownline.
It was an experiment, to see how a model would look. I did notice that blacklining
seems to enhance certain aspects of the model. I can't really put my finger on it,
but blacklined models just look different. Pictures will be forthcoming, after I dullcote
the mini and take some pictures.
July 15th, 2004
To phrase a line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail (all time classic movie)
"I'm not dead yet" and I don't plan on being thrown on the cart yet
either! I've been working on an undead werewolf (that one was painted
by Anne Forrester, holeymoleygooglymoogly)from Reaperminis.
After checking out Anne's paintwork, mine looks 3rd rate. I'll pick at the model
a bit more, to clean up things, perhaps change a few things, and when I'm
happy with it, I'll post pictures. Just letting the 28 people that faithfully
hit my site ;-) know whats going on after a surge of updates. I now return
you to your regularly scheduled program.....
June 27th, 2004
Well, the local GW store painting competition ended yesterday, and I have some
good news, and some bad news. I won 'best diorama', that's the good news. The
bad news is I was the only one entered into that category. I was really looking
forward to seeing other peoples work from this area. I am leaving my entry at
the store for roughly a week, so I won't have pictures of it until I get it back.
There was another category for the contest, 'best painted regiment' but I didn't
enter that one as I didn't have time to paint a regiment. Also in that category
there was only one entry. Someone painted a regiment of Teutonic guard, but they
where all conversions from other models, and not the new GW set.
I did manage to paint something else this week, that I've been wanting to paint
since the model came out. (oh, about a year...) The new bloodletter sergeant.
This model was fun to paint, as there wasn't much in the way, obscuring the detail.
Also, I snapped a picture of my entry into Jarrett Lee's Metallicadept 2004. I procrastinated
big time on this model, and never got around to sending in my entry. Also I didn't think
it was worthy of a contest so that was probably the driving force behind my sitting on the
pictures.
I'm looking through some of the pictures that are on my site, but I doubt they are linked
anywhere (you know, upload them, then tell yourself to make the webpage later, then
never get around to it...) Well, here are some beaut's that I think you'll want to see..
2002 Games Day Baltimore open gold winner
Bobby Wongs 2002 Games Day Baltimore Fantasy single Gold winner
I took this picture 4 years ago of a friends Chaos Giant conversion. Pretty whacked out.
A Dwarven Cleric I did about a year ago.
A heresy miniatures Fallen One that I sold on ebay a while back.
A Lupine Shaman that also hit the ebay block. I really like this model and never should have
 sold it :-(
Some fun with metallics, Mangu Timur, guy in plate armor.
A Roper..if you know D&D, you know these things. Now residing somewhere in France.
Rutgar the slayer. I love painting barbarians and monsters.
Uh...something very scary. Reminds me of Detective Fish (Barney Miller sitcom) in drag.
A Wyvern from Reaper minis. I couldn't get the gloss down on this model, no matter how many
layers of testors dullcote I used. must've been from all the ink I used to shade with.
 An undead Wraithchick thing.
I think thats about it. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Cheers,
Craig
P.S. next in the works, undead zombie werewolf, from reaper. model looks like its a hoot
to paint, since you just really can't take that combination seriously ;-)
June 22nd, 2004
I've been working on my diorama base lately, and since this is the first
one I've ever attempted, its showing me where my experience in building
diorama's is lacking. No pictures yet, as I'm slightly embarrassed to show it
to the public. I just hope I can have it finished before Saturday!
June 18th, 2004,
Been working on my entry for the Games Workshop 'Storm of Chaos'
contest that's coming up on the 26th. You've seen Archaon that I plan
on using for part of it, and I plan on adding these dogs (and another view)
into the diorama. The models haven't been protected coated yet, in case
you where wondering why they are still on those caps. Just need to come
up with the base for the diorama now..
Also, in the works is Pilzenbhir, Defender of the plains. I'm going to try my
NMM techniques on this one and give him one of those cool cork bases
I've seen people doing as of late.
June 17th, 2004,
Fat Klaus (I looked on the heresy site for the actual name that Andy
Foster gave him) is nearing completion. I am fairly happy with his current
look, and he just needs some touch ups here and there (and probably
some smoothing of blends...) Give a look if your interested, and if you
have the time, drop me a line to tell me what you think of my work. It
doesn't have to be anything fancy or drawn out, it could even be
criticisms, whatever you think of writing. Thanks!
 June 14th, 2004,
Time to shock the nation! 2 updates within a weeks time? Unheard of!
Will the earth be rocked off its axis? I doubt it, but with my current
lack of updates something cosmic must be going on. Now, all I have to
do is remember all the little tricks of painting that have been slowly
forgotten over the last year.
I finished painting the new Archaon on foot, using metallic paint and
tamiya red ink. I'm slightly happy with the model, but I know it could
look much better. If you care to look, HERE and HERE are some
pictures I snapped of it.
Also, here is a WIP shot (HERE and HERE) of a Heresy Miniatures model,
Evil Claus. This model is a tool for me to work on my skills at
large area blending/layering.
June 10th, 2004
I've actually painted something! Its a model I've had sitting around
for months, primed, waiting in my painting box. Its not much, as it
was a test piece to scrape the dust off my painting skills. So, without
further ado, here is a Werebear, from the defunct Chainmail game.
Click HERE and HERE to view my drybrushing skills (and some neat effects
with tamiya smoke on the metallics. Good stuff, straight from the pot!).
Also, to help my painting along, I built a painting table. Its a bit smaller
than my old bench, but I think I made it at a better height for less strain
on my back. If you care to see it, click HERE.
I think I have to work on my photography skills, once again, as I am
not that happy with the pictures I took (too bright, too grainy..)
My next piece up is either Archaon on foot, or a neat mini from Heresy
Miniatures, evil santa. Both are primed and based, the choice now is to
decide which one to work on :-)
I was also going through my website manager, and noticed quite a few
pictures of minis I've painted, but never posted here. They were either for
ebay auctions, or painted for a friend, and I just uploaded them to my site
so I could just send a link my friends, and the plan was to later post them
here, but I procrastinated something fierce, and they never made a public
showing. So, if the time permits, I'll link those pictures. (But, please, don't
wait with baited breath ;-)
April 20th, 2004
Dose dieses ist möglich?
Moze ten jest mozliwy? (sorry for my bad polish)
another update?
Well, just a little one. Michal, aka Mahon has finally
redesigned his site into a most pleasing and well thought
out package. Go here to check out his site. A highly respected
painter, active on many boards and sites. I highly recommend
checking him out!
April 19th, 2004
I have to thank everyone that inquired about my minis
that I had for sale. I have since purchased (read: I got a
loan for a car) and will take my miniatures off the for sale
block. I haven't painted anything new, and I probably won't
until I have a proper painting area set up again. (everything
is in boxes as we work feverishly on getting the basement
done over)
I thank everyone that has come to visit and check out
what I have to offer on my page, either through painted
examples or the few tips I have here. So, if you've bookmarked
this site, you don't have to check here frequently (read again;
check once a month if you care..) until I start painting again.
Feb. 8th 2004
I've updated my "for sale" page. If you've ever wanted
to own something of mine, here's your chance. I need to
replace my car with something that works that is the
only reason I'm selling my minis. Kinda like a once in a
lifetime sale. (I never sell my personal stuff, so this is
a first)
Feb. 6th, 2004
On the minipainter yahoo! group, a query was posed to
Jakob Rune Nielson about his painting metallics technique.
Here is his reply. It runs hand in hand to his painting gold
tip that he posted over a year and a half ago.
If your looking for new work from me, I'm sad to say that
I've been quite busy lately. I've been working on home
improvements whilst also working on a car that finally
gave up the ghost last week. (We've been trying to nurse
the car back into health for 2 months, but the head
gasket blew and its just not worth fixing it. Especially
when its 10 degrees outside!!)
Why did I mention my personal woes on a minipainting
site, you ask? Well, it looks like I'm going to be selling
off my minis so I can actually afford a new (read; running)
car in the very near future. So, even tho I promised myself
never to sell my wolfen, it looks like I'll be selling them. Its
not like they can carry me to work and back ;-)
January 19th, 2004
Happy New Year! Ok, its almost 3 weeks late, but
better late then never, right? I have actually painted
a model or 2 since my last update, but only have pictures
of one of them. This is a Tim Prow sculpt, a fairly new
release from Reaper minis Warlord line. Click
HERE and HERE for 2 different views. Remember
Monty Python and the Holy Grail, this is the Wizard,
'Tim'.
Also, Jarrett Lee over at Tincture Adept is having a
painting contest for regular metallic painted minis.
I plan on entering for fun, and if you can get ahold
of one of the 3 minis that has to be painted for this
contest, I suggest you do it!
Dec. 16th, 2003
Wow, I've been slacking on my page, haven't I?
I've managed to paint up a couple models, whilst trying to
keep up with everything else going on right now.
First up, is a 6 armed demon woman, from reaperminis.
This was actually a commission and the customer is quite
pleased with it. Want to vote on it? click here. Its currently
at 7.1 on CMON.
The other one, is an Ogre, from Reaperminis. This model was
a friends character in their AD&D game. He found it a blast playing
something slow, thickheaded and quite big. I just put this model
up on CMON, so if you would care to vote on this one also,
I know I promised pictures of my Chaos Emperors champion,
but I traded it before I could take pictures. I'm sure I could
borrow it for a bit to take pictures one of these days.
Nov. 15-2003
I've added CMON's banner/ebay ad to my site. Not only does it
help one of the best minipainter sites out there, I have the chance
to make some pocket change (or some money to pay for my site,
or more hobby stuff, or perhaps even a new brush or 2)
Also, I've been working on my 40k piece. A converted
emperors champion, but this one is a Khorne Chaos Champion.
I'm kinda torn on what to do with this model. Either ebay it,
or turn it into a Xmas gift for a really good friend. I don't think
this model will photograph well, so that alone will hurt it
on ebay. Pics will be forthcoming.
I have based and primed a commission of mine, the 6 armed
devil-woman. I have 2 weeks to complete it...It shall be an
interesting paint, thats for sure.
Nov. 09-2003
Well, heres a picture of my latest work, Rutger, Pit Fighter.
A neat sculpt, with a great face. I played around with some
warpaint on this one. He's also on ebay in case *someone*
would like to purchase it.
Here is a site you should visit, Electric Ocean. Terry updates
his page daily with news from around the minipainter world.
This page you should bookmark, its that good!
Nov. 08-2003
Not a miniature update, more of an astronomy one.
Last night there was a more unusual lunar eclipse,
causing the moon to look red. After my sweetheart,
Jenn, told me about it, I thought it would be cool to
check it out. So I maxed out the settings on my camera
set up the tripod and took about 60 pictures. I found 3
that came out looking neat. 2 are small, but one is
1024x768 (great for desktops ;-)
check them out here, here and the bigger one.
The big one is more abstract, since details are, err..
roundish. But its a neat picture, really it is!
I do have one new painted mini that is destined for
ebay, but I don't have pictures of it yet. I will have them
up soon, so please be patient, Thanks!
I rarely paint 40k minis, but I have made an exception.
Its a converted emperors champion. I don't want to
say anything more than that, since I've never seen one
done quite like this one and I would like it to be a surprise
once I'm finished with it.

Whilst checking out Jarrett's website, I noticed he posted
a link to a 'fabulous' article. Its all about painting with acrylics.
It is definitely worth a read. I saved the entire page to my
hard drive. While your at it, check out Jarretts site. He's a
great and friendly guy.
Also, I've picked up 3 commissions, (something I haven't done
in a looooong time) so ebay will probably seeing older works as
I won't be able to work on anything new while I'm working on these
models. First up, a six armed half neekid demon chick with PMS.

I'm planning on putting up 3 knights on ebay tonight.
I took new pictures of them (with the nikon, not the kodak
I used to use) if you like, go check them out. I am working on a
new model to put on ebay, Rutger the Slayer (another Reaper
mini, sculpted by Werner Klocke) I am liking how this model
is turning out. So stay tuned!

Not much of an update, but a quick tip
for painting blonde hair on a mini.
I'm painting a model I primed black, and painting
blonde hair can be difficult over black (I have only
done this over white primer before) so I think I came
up with something fairly decent, color combo wise.
Base color of GW bestial brown (I used vallejo beasty brown)
making sure you get good coverage. Then I used
a flat brush and used vallejo goldenbrown, hitting the high
spots, but not getting it into the recesses. I then went
over the higher spots, using the flat brush again using
vallejo buff. A very passable dirty blonde.

I recently finished another Reaper miniature,
Amanthas Grayleaf, Elven Hero.
This time around I painted it in NMM. I haven't
done that style in quite some time, and I wanted to
see if I could still pull it off. Let me know what you
think of it, Thanks!
I will have 3 auctions going up on monday night for
my Thorval the Black, Amanthas Greyleaf (deja vu, eh?)
and Manganaw, lord of the gnolls. (how do you spell that
gods name? Just click HERE to see my auction page.

Ok, this is just a shameless plug for my auctions.
I've been putting stuff up on ebay to raise some
money to pay bills (like, who doesn't have those?)
BUT, I am working on an angel, and if it comes out
well, it will be making a trip south for a special woman.
Pics will be posted when I am finished with it.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Right, things have been hectic, time consuming
and at other times, FANTASTIC. Finding the time
to paint has been hard, but I have done a few things
in the last couple months. I painted a few models
destined for ebay, and HERE is one of them. Its the new
Reaper Warlord Dwarven Cleric. My plan is to put a
few things (possibly all remaining models in my collection)
on ebay to help with my bills. So, please keep an eye
(or 2) on my auctions to see if there is anything a collector
might be interested in. Or, just contact me outright if
you would care to send me a serious bid on my work.
Thanks for sticking with me over the last 8 months and
checking in to see how my little corner of the web has
been doing :-)
7-19-03
Well, I tried to take some pictures of my latest work.
Now, I have to apologize if the pics are dark, or
overly bright. The monitor I have now is quite old and
even tho I have the brightness turned all the way up,
I think its still dark. People used to mention that my
pictures were always on the dark side, so I"m hoping
that I'm not uploading poor pictures. Well, enough
whining, here is my latest. If anyone has the time,
just email me if the pics are off. Thanks!
Chaos Champion
Warlord Wraith
Reaper Roper
Warlord Wulfen shaman

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! Almost 4 months since my last
update? Call me a slacker! I've been busy with life lately
and at this time (8:09 pm, on a thursday night..) I've come
across some free time. I have been painting, but just a little
bit. I have finished a Reaper Wraith, The Chaos warrior from
the GW chaos tour (last year, if anyone remembers) A Reaper
Roper and a GW chaos warrior for my Path to Glory warband.
I am currently working on a Reaper Warlord Wolfen shaman.
(his backpack is causing me grief, just too much stuff on it)
Pictures should follow soon, but hopefully not longer than a
week! Thanks to all that have come and checked out my site
since my last update. I hope I've helped and inspired the
minipainter in you! :-)

Just when I think I have things under control, something comes
up. I've been quite busy with other things, that my painting
and website have had to take a back seat for awhile. I have to
thank everyone that has stopped by and perhaps sometime in the
near future I'll have something to update my site with.
Thanks for your patience!
02-27-03
When I first started up this site, I told myself I was going to
update waaaay more often than I have, so I apologize to everyone
that has been coming here recently and seeing the same old not-
updated site. So, sorry y'all
Right, now I do have some things I have completed recently.
Believe it or not, warm air came around to make the temperature in
my basement workshop a bit more reasonable.
I've finished 2 other entries for the LOTR contest, Aragorn and Legolas.
The Legolas pic shows all 3 entries, but Aragorn I am happiest with.
Also, I have a new 'student' that I've been sharing my painting
knowledge with. Jenn has caught on quite quickly, and for only
her 5th mini, she is doing super. She has also won the beginners
category for the LOTR contest with her Ringwraith, and she is going
to enter Sauron and Gollum in the State competition. Come see them
at Danger Planet in Waltham, Ma. this Saturday.
One more thing. I have painted Blacksting the Wyvern and put him
up on ebay. A great sculpt, and was fun to paint. I put up 4 pictures
of him on the auction page, so instead of duplicating them here, just
go check it out :-) Thanks!

It warmed up a bit recently, so I managed to get some painting
in. WOOT! Games Workshop is having a LOTR painting competition,
so I decided to paint up a model or 2 for it. I picked Gandalf the
White, because I like the character, and the model. I have plans
on painting Legolas as my 2nd entry, but don't know if I'll be able
to have it painted before the deadline of the 14th.
01-15-03
Wow! Long time, no update! Overtime has started again where
I work, so that has taken over my free time. Also with this winter
being colder than most recent ones, and my work room in my
*unheated* basement, I'm not spending much time down there.
Hopefully I'll get back to painting soon. But until then, I have a
neat set of pages to share with you. The wonderful Judith Northwood
has sent me a handfull of JPEG's on how to mix fleshtones
without using flesh colored paints. Go HERE to see how you can
make your own fleshtone paints. I've used the burnt umber,
cadmium red and white mix to come up with a neat purplish skin tone
that I used on my minotaur and The Fallen. For those of you
without Raw Sienna, you can use GW's snakebite leather, and
burnt umber is pretty similiar to GW's scorched earth.
WELL? what are you waiting for, go check it out! :-)
12-29-02
After taking some time off for the holiday season (just no
spare 4-5 hours to sit and paint..) I did manage to paint up
a new release from Reaper, "Templer Lightbringer" and a
Minotaur for my Slannesh Warband (yes, I play the GW
Chaos Warband skirmish with a good friend, its fun getting
my butt kicked on a regular basis!) I did paint some older
dark elf witches as my Marauders, but...I kinda burned through
them just so I could have some painted minis to field.
(or in other words, I ain't letting the world see my speed work)
12-19-02
After painting a Wolfen Watcher, and a Mira the reckless
for Dave, I finally put together another Boris Mingla, Evil
Warlord (now with a tentacle!) Just a quick picture, I'll
take better ones and give him a proper page of his own
soon.
12-11-02
Just a quick picture of 'The Fallen' from Heresy Miniatures.
The figure still has a slight gloss finish that I will matte
latter. When looking at this model, do people think
"Legend"?
12-08-02
2 updates in one day? Yup! I uploaded a much better
picture of Ashcrypt the Lich. I overcoated him with a
flat varnish, and he looks much better than the old
glossy one. He is also going to be my mini of the week
for ebay along with the Khemri army box I won at
GW's contest for a chaos warband. I also have some
Eldar box sets I've finally decided I will never get to, so
they are going to be sold off also.
12-08-02
I've added Total Model to my links page. A variety of
resources available on Antar's pages.
Also, I'm getting around my Fallen model. He doesn't have
the typical red flesh associated with most demons, but
a more purplish evil color.
12-06-02
Holy updates Batman! Since I had a week off of work,
I managed to get some painting done :-)
Heres a page of a conversion I did for the chaos warband.
A picture of Mira the Brave I painted for Dave.
And, Ta-Da, my chaos warband.
Here is a picture of a Wolfen hunter I painted for Mick
(but it didn't come out as I expected, I might have to
paint him a different one.)
Also, some WIP pictures of Boris, the tentacled one and
The Fallen, A model from Heresy minis (it shows where
I had to putty spots, and his pretty neato base).
For Ebay this week, I have the trio of Beastmen up for auction.
Weeee! A slew of new stuff all in one morning!
