Patches, the Flesh Golem
Another fine mini from Reaper miniatures, sculpted by Jason Wiebe
This was a fun little monster to paint. Good size (he stands about a head taller than regular models)
So, the first thing I did,was mount him on a larger, 40mm round base, since the base he has was
kinda smallish. I wanted to paint a model, without using inks, for I wanted to try and get rid
of the shine of inks. So, I based his flesh with Vallejo orange brown, then used Vallejo Dark Flesh
lightened with Vallejo light flesh for each succesive highlight. The pants are Vallejo black grey
mixed with yellow ochre for highlights. For his stiches, I did use a couple inks, red and chestnut
to give it that still wet look. About the only problem I had with this model is its hands. Especially
the right one, as it looks like he is supposed to have something in it. Other than that, nice definition
all around made painting him quite enjoyable.
