This is my first attempt at a 40k Orc. Since he has been lounging
about my "going to paint him eventually" drawer, I finally slapped some
paint on him. I think he still needs something. (besides some grots..;-)

I didn't use black primer on him, honest!
I primed him white, painted on some Vallejo dark green
lightened up the green with some white, defined the muscle groups,
then washed him with citadel brown ink. then I went back over
him with the green again.
The pants are a mix of leather, dark sand and vallejo cadmium red.
the browns where washed with brown ink, and the reds were washed
over with chestnut ink, then everything was rehighlighted.
The metal was painted black, then drybrushed boltgun metal, then hit
with vallejo smoke, then rehighlighted.
And, yes, i know my checkerboard pattern is off. There is several
attempts to clean that up on his shoulder. Its a lot harder than it looks
to paint it squarely.
